The message on the side of the pole is a prayer. Do you believe prayer can
promote peace?
If not, take it as an artistic expression.
I'm not sure that there is anything more important than peace. I also am not
sure that we think about that very often.
If prayer ever works, if artistic expression ever has an effect, if there
ever is value in building a monument to anything, it seems to me that one
ought to be built for peace.
