Hand Painted Peace Poles

Hand painting the text allows viewers feel the work and craft of the artist in the pole.

Normally I painted the text on the cedar peace pole without painting the pole a color. That allowed the pole to weather to a natural silvery color. Many years from now, when it is so well weathered that even the paint of the letters is gone, the wood under where the paint was will not have deteriorated as much. The text still will be readable. And the pole will have a great "driftwood" or "antique" quality. That is when it might speak most eloquently.

I don't make wooden peace poles anymore. I make stone and copper peace poles and resin peacepoles now, but I do help you make your own out of wood.
