Patina
The powdery green/blue patina is the result of acid etching the surface of the copper to produce the same effect acid rain would in about a hundred years. It is not paint and needs no maintenance. I can make this patina lean toward green or toward blue to suit your taste. The peace pole pictured above I made very blue, but look at
the patina's on other copper poles on this site to see the other hues possible.
Installation
These are not as heavy as they look. One healthy person can carry this pole. With two people it is easy.
These can be set in cement, but just the earth being put back into the hole around them is enough. For more about that, and for photos of a similar pole (not a peace pole) that I made that has been installed this way for some years, visit a page about it on my other
site by clicking this link: www.joel.com/for_sale.htm.
Larger An even larger option would be an octagon 10 inches in diameter with 4 feet underground and 10 to 12 feet (or more) above ground. With 8
languages it might be in the $3000 range. I haven't made one yet to be sure.
