Peace Pole Fountain Walls

The splash barrier might not need to be anything more than
a pile of rocks in a circle around the fountain as at left.

Or it could be a depression in the ground around the fountain as at right.
Or a combination of the two - a nine-inch deep depression and a nine-inch pile of rocks.

To make it so that so much pond and landscaping work will not be necessary for those not inclined to do that, I am designing a pole with less splash. The cap might be similar, but with the water flowing down the pole rather than dropping off the outside of the cap. That will create less splash. When the longevity of the text on the pole is important, having all of the water flow over the text is a problem. I know how to solve it. The problem is solving it affordably. I have an idea that I'm working on, but it requires building special tools, which takes time. I'm writing this in August 2009. Maybe by mid October I'll have managed to acquire and build the components necessary for a trial run.
