Peace Pole Fountain

It is not necessary to have a pond to have this peace pole
fountain. There needs to be a splash area and a reservoir of water under it, but that can
be with rocks or pavers with no standing water showing above them.

Currently I am working on a pole that will have less splash
than this one. This one was designed for people who want the drama and the sound
of water falling and splashing. When
the water drips from this fountain onto a flat surface, the splash reaches a
little more than 6 feet from the pole. So a rock bed would need to be 14 feet in
diameter to catch the splash. If that much room is not available the rocks
around the base might be able to be angled to direct the splash back at the
pole. Or a low wall near the pole could contain the splash (as in these
sketches). Or if the water drips into a mote or
a pond it might not splash as
far. But on a flat, hard surface a diameter of 14 feet is needed to catch the
splash from this particular pole.
Currently I am developing a peace pole fountain that will
have little splash to contain.
Languages
The languages on this pole are etched in stainless steel
plaques. The letters are not painted. Rather the stainless steel has been altered to
change its color. In this photo the letters are black, but it is a new fountain.
Eventually the letters will be a more subtle grey.
Installation
The peace pole fountain at left became part of a healing
garden at a hospital in California. It was planted by the contractors who were installing the rest
of the garden for them. Planting it is a job that the average
do-it-yourselfer can do, but I suspect many will want to hire pond installers locally,
and those people probably would want to use their own pumps and pond liners.
For
the do-it-yourselfer I can provide the pump and pond liner and such - probably
for about a thousand dollars. But the price I'm quoting now does not include
that.
Peace Pole Fountain with five languages ..........$4,500
Additional languages ........................................$100 each (10 extra
are possible)
Shipping ............................................................$300

The amount of water being pumped to the top of the pole
should be greater than the amount of water that issues from a standard faucet.
However, the water seen in the photos on this page came from a standard
faucet. So that amount of water will do.
