Indoor Carved Wood42" Maple Peace PoleMy brother took on this project. We were asked for a special peace pole to put on an altar in a chapel in a hospital. They liked the idea of five sides and wondered if we could make that in wood. That is a bit of a trick in wood, but we had them send us photos of the altar and the chapel so that we could get a feel for the space, and then created this five-sided, wooden peace pole for them. Click photos to enlargeThe text was not sandblasted out of the wood but rather carved with beveled letters. Sometimes my brother is too busy to take on another project, but if you are interested in one of these, call and we will see what can be worked out. This work of art cost $650. Less expensive, smaller, indoor, wood peace poles used to be able to be purchased from carvers in Bali who ship worldwide. At the time of this writing they had stopped doing that, but if you want to see if they have started again, they can be found at http://balipeacepoles.org. Home |
