3-Sided Stainless Steel Peace Pole
At right is one with a cap, but before text was etched. Cap probably is the wrong word in this case. The peak at the top is what I mean. This is made out of stainless steel of a higher quality than silverware usually is made. It is built to withstand the most severe elements over many generations. (For those of you who know stainless steel it is 316L.) The text is not painted. It is etched into the steel. If you spray painted over it and then removed the paint with chemical paint-stripper, it would not effect this text. My silverware has black handles created in the same way and year after year it survives going through the dishwasher and being tumbled in a drawer with no apparent effect. It is 11 feet tall. It is available with either 3 or 6 translations (your choice) for $2500. Additional translations could be had for $100 each. As many as 12 translations would be possible if they were put on both the inside and outside. I'm considering making one with much smaller text running down the inside. From a distance it would look like a design element, like a stripe. Up close it would be clear that it is a series of translations. These all would be included in the $2500 price. This also could be made with 4 sides or 5 sides or more. Click photos to enlarge. Home |
